The leading cause of death in the California workplace is from workplace violence.  The number of violent attacks continues to climb, now accounting for over 12 percent of reported workers' compensation claims.  Countrywide, over 16,000 threats are made DAILY in the workplace, over 700 workers are attacked and over 40,000 are harassed.  It happens from the smallest business to the largest corporations and public service entities.

Pacific Legal Investigations offers the following services in the area of workplace violence:

  • Analyze the employer's current training program and the current work areas.
  • Provide recommendations concerning workplace violence prevention and response strategies.
  • Conduct interviews and obtain statements of involved parties once there has been a workplace violence incident.
  • Conduct limited activity and background checks of aggressors.
  • Conduct surveillance activities of the aggressor, when appropriate.
  • Conduct security assessments on facilities and surrounding areas, as well as assessments for the security of the victim.
  • Provide written reports, which will include the facts and circumstances of the incident: witness, victim and aggressor statements, and recommendations for protective measures.
  • Provide a separate report with suggestions for preventive measures to deter future workplace violence.
  • Determine if law enforcement intervention or follow-up is needed.

Our skilled investigators are available around the clock in order to respond to your needs.  Whether handling fragile victims or hostile aggressors, our investigators are skilled in obtaining information in an appropriate and legal manner.  By taking employees' complaints seriously, discovering the full scope of what is transpiring, and taking action to correct the problem, victims and other employees often feel satisfied, and are more productive and less likely to pursue litigation.
